What you'll do

• Check products for consistency, palatability, and quality
• investigate and resolve food-quality and service complaints
• schedule and receive deliveries and verify quality and quantity
• monitor food preparation, portions, and presentation
• schedule staff and assign duties
• review procedures and operational problems for improvements
• perform some food preparation or service tasks
• maintain food and equipment inventories
• organize training, resolve personnel problems, hire staff, and evaluate performance
• arrange equipment maintenance and repairs
• use the point-of-sale system and cash register and make bank deposits
• follow opening and closing procedures and maintain records.
