Job overview
The Behavior Technician (Specialist or Paraprofessional) role is an onsite, full-time school-year position in Phoenix, AZ. Compensation is $17–$22 per hour, depending on experience and position level. Arizona Autism Charter Schools supports students on the autism spectrum through individualized learning programs. The technician helps students access classroom instruction and work toward individualized education program goals by supporting academic activities, routines, self-care, and behavior plans. Working with teachers and the applied behavior analysis team, the role contributes to a consistent and supportive classroom environment; optional summer opportunities are available.
What you'll do
- Support instructional programs, self-help activities, and behavior management
- work with the classroom team on academic instruction and behavior plans
- carry out lessons as directed by the teacher or classroom lead
- assist with classroom planning and materials
- support routines, transitions, and self-care tasks as needed
- implement applied behavior analysis techniques and behavior plans as directed
- mentor and train paraprofessionals when applicable
- obtain and maintain QBS certification.
