Student Software Engineering Assistant

The Student Software Engineering Assistant is an onsite, part-time role in Logan, UT. Compensation is not specified. The student will support the FORGE team’s software environment, which is used in a U.S. Department of Defense mission setting; Space Dynamics Laboratory also supports NASA and national security missions.

What you'll do

• Develop Python scripts and automation
• evaluate, test, integrate, troubleshoot, and improve software and supporting tools
• assist with deployments, CI/CD processes, and test infrastructure
• document and present results
• use collaboration tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Jira, and Confluence
• and work with software, systems, and infrastructure engineers. The expected schedule is 15–20 hours weekly during the academic year and up to 40 hours weekly in summer.

Must be a Utah State University student pursuing a relevant bachelor’s degree, have at least one year of school remaining, and be a U.S. citizen able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance. Python proficiency is required.
