The Survey Instrument Operator role is onsite and field-based in High Point, NC, with work at job sites in varying terrain and weather. Compensation is $20 per hour. The operator joins Fleming Engineering’s land development surveying team and contributes to projects that shape communities.

What you'll do

• Assist the Survey Party Chief with daily surveying and field crew operations
• learn boundary, topographic, control, mortgage, and as-built surveys, as well as construction staking and layout
• operate and help maintain survey equipment under supervision
• prepare tools and supplies
• record accurate field notes and observations
• and communicate data quality or safety concerns. The role requires a high school diploma, willingness to work outdoors, teamwork, attention to detail, and a valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one. Occasional weekends or travel may be needed.
