The role provides and coordinates clinically competent care for assigned patients before, during, and after hemodialysis treatment. Through assessment, treatment-plan updates, patient and family education, medication administration, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the nurse supports safe care and improved patient outcomes.

What you'll do

• Collect and analyze patient data before, during, and after hemodialysis and document findings
• modify treatment plans as indicated and notify appropriate clinical staff
• assess and provide patient and family education
• coordinate safe hemodialysis therapy with care staff
• administer prescribed medications and document justification and effectiveness
• assist with emergency response
• support staff training and orientation as assigned
• ensure laboratory collection and shipping procedures
• update nursing assessments and plans of care with the interdisciplinary team
• inform patients about transplant and treatment modality options
• complete CAP requirements.
