What you'll do

• Perform skin punctures to obtain blood specimens and process specimens according to laboratory protocol. Process test requisitions, charge, register, and order outpatient tests
• inform technicians about stat, timed, or urgent testing
• distribute and file results and physician orders
• contact patients, physicians, and nursing units when required. Perform capillary testing and outpatient EKGs, answer and transfer laboratory calls, and maintain organized collection trays and work areas.
