What you'll do

• Welcome and assist patients and visitors in person and by phone
• coordinate patient flow with back-office staff
• explain medical and cosmetic procedures
• collect and update insurance and demographic information
• verify health plan eligibility
• schedule appointments using the EMR
• manage phone lines
• handle basic end-of-day accounting, deposits, and credit card payments
• room patients and prepare them for physicians
• explain care instructions per physician orders
• coordinate tests or admissions
• monitor office supplies
• assist during medical emergencies and document according to policy.
