The Robotics Field Service Engineer role is an onsite, field-based position in Detroit, MI, with openings across assigned U.S. regions. Pay is $25–$32 per hour. Formic’s Fleet Operations Team supports uptime and operational performance across its deployed robotic systems. The role exists to keep customer robotic cells operating reliably by diagnosing failures, restoring production, and carrying out preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance. It also supports customer teams, documents service work, and identifies recurring issues for broader improvement.

What you'll do

• Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on robotic manufacturing cells
• respond to remote and onsite escalations, diagnose root causes, and restore systems
• support customer operators and maintenance teams
• record service activity and parts in CMMS
• coordinate field schedules
• monitor fleet performance remotely
• document work and follow-up
• escalate recurring failures
• follow safety requirements including LOTO
• participate in root-cause analysis, audits, and improvement initiatives.
