Job overview

The Cook role is onsite in Boston, MA, with pay of $23 per hour. The position is full time, with shifts of 2:00–7:00 p.m. or 6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m., including weekends. Susan Bailis Assisted Living Community’s Food Services and Chef department supports resident dining. The cook prepares and presents meals according to community standards, maintains safe and sanitary kitchen areas, and supports food service operations. The role helps provide residents with a restaurant-style dining experience and keeps food and supplies properly handled and stocked.

What you'll do

• Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and approved menus
• maintain kitchen and food storage areas
• open or close the kitchen
• follow cleaning schedules and food safety practices
• estimate food and supply needs
• document food and storage temperatures
• assist with food and supply transportation and storage
• support special events, banquets, and theme meals.
