Utility Locator

Job overview

The Utility Locator role is onsite in Eau Claire, WI, with travel to job sites required. Compensation is $23–$27 per hour. Underground Systems Inc’s work supports utility construction and excavation by identifying underground infrastructure before work begins. The locator identifies, maps, and marks underground utility routes and communicates findings to foremen and crews. Accurate locating and documentation help protect cables, pipes, and other conduits from damage during excavation.

What you'll do

• Identify and map the location and depth of underground utilities
• assist with placement of aerial, buried, and underground facilities
• document site information and work performed
• complete standby, meet, emergency, and on-call locates
• interpret and troubleshoot design prints, locate tickets, and permits
• communicate utility locations using the Uniform Color Code and pennants.
