Risk Manager – Construction & Compliance

Job overview

The Risk Manager – Construction & Compliance role is hybrid, based in the Bay Area and Northern California, with regular onsite attendance and travel to offices around the Bay Area and Sacramento. The salary range is $150,000–$170,000 per year. The role supports a client in California’s construction and infrastructure industry, reporting to the Construction Manager. The Risk Manager leads company-wide risk, contracts, and compliance functions, helping protect assets and partnerships while aligning leadership, legal, and operational teams. Through risk programs, contract work, insurance and bonding oversight, and cross-department collaboration, the role supports sound business decisions and consistent compliance.

What you'll do

• Serve as primary liaison with insurers, bonding institutions, and legal counsel
• lead risk management and compliance programs
• review, draft, and negotiate agreements
• support project leadership on claims, change orders, and schedule analyses
• oversee insurance, bonding, and licensing programs
• collaborate with Safety, Accounting, and Field Operations on risk prevention
• develop training, standard operating procedures, and policy improvements
• contribute compliance expertise to special projects and new ventures.
