The Counselor is an onsite, full-time position in Punta Gorda, FL, paying $27.24 per hour. The GEO Group provides correctional and community reentry services, including evidence-based rehabilitation. The Counselor provides direct client care and readiness and transition programming for assigned participants. The role assesses treatment needs, develops individualized plans, delivers counseling and educational groups, documents progress, and helps participants address barriers to completing treatment.

What you'll do

• Assess substance-use history, treatment requirements, and participant risks and needs
• develop and document individualized treatment plans
• lead individual counseling, group lectures, and psychoeducational or behavior-modification groups
• record attendance, participation, and progress
• maintain clinical records and case files
• use crisis intervention and conflict-resolution strategies
• guide participants in addressing barriers to treatment completion.

Why this role
