The CNC Machine Operator – Navy Systems role is onsite at the Grantley Plant in York, Pennsylvania. Starting pay is $34.08 per hour for CNC machine operators and $43.31 per hour for qualified journeymen; second shift pays an additional $2 per hour. Johnson Controls Navy Systems designs, manufactures, and supports chilled-water air-conditioning, refrigeration, and related equipment for Navy and Coast Guard vessels. The operator runs a CNC-controlled horizontal machining center and performs production-part handling, inspection, tooling, and process checks. The work supports the manufacture of custom, high-reliability equipment to military and customer specifications.

What you'll do

• Operate a CNC-controlled horizontal machining center
• use tool preset machines, precision measuring instruments, hand and power tools, and material-handling equipment
• work from drawings, process sheets, specifications, programs, and instructions
• change fixtures and load or unload parts
• inspect parts and enter data
• maintain tooling
• respond to control messages
• perform housekeeping and deburring
• complete preventive-maintenance checklists and assist with machine preventive maintenance as needed.
