The WordPress / User Experience Technical Lead role is fully remote, with the listing location in Hudson, NY. Compensation is $45–$55 per hour. The role leads the design, development, user experience, accessibility, and implementation of the Columbia County Tourism website. The technical lead guides the website project from discovery and architecture through development, testing, deployment, and maintenance. The work supports destination marketing objectives by delivering a usable, accessible, secure, and performant website and transferring knowledge to staff.

What you'll do

• Lead technical planning, website architecture, and solution design
• conduct discovery sessions and stakeholder workshops
• design information architecture, sitemaps, and user journeys
• lead UX/UI strategy
• develop and configure custom WordPress themes and functionality
• implement responsive, mobile-first design
• integrate third-party applications, APIs, analytics, and interactive maps
• ensure scalability, security, and performance
• collaborate with content and SEO teams
• oversee WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility activities
• conduct technical reviews and testing
• support launch, staff training, knowledge transfer, maintenance, and enhancements.

Why this role
