Designer III, Civil Site Design

Job overview

The Designer III role is primarily office-based in Charlotte, NC; compensation is not specified. McAdams is a full-service land planning, landscape architecture, civil engineering, transportation, and geomatics firm that partners with clients on design projects. The designer leads and coordinates design work to produce accurate plans from permitting through construction. The role supports project delivery by developing site and utility plans, coordinating reviews, maintaining schedules, and mentoring newer team members.

What you'll do

• Lead preliminary site, utility, and grading plan preparation
• uphold CAD and design standards
• prepare construction drawing sheet packages and incorporate redlines
• develop plan sheets, notes, sequences, and specifications
• create and modify Civil 3D alignments, profiles, surfaces, and pipe networks
• support storm drainage and erosion-control design
• coordinate with project teams and regulatory agencies
• mentor new team members.

Why this role

Requires a four-year bachelor's degree in a listed engineering or related field and 2–5 years of relevant experience. AutoCAD Civil 3D experience and EI on path to PE are preferred.
