Senior Design Engineer, Mechanical

The Senior Design Engineer, Mechanical role is onsite in Colchester, VT. Compensation is $100,000–$160,000 per year. The role supports Hayward Tyler’s Original Equipment group, which provides technical product and engineering design support and includes quoting, engineering, quality, project management, production planning, and procurement. The engineer leads broad design and analysis assignments across new-unit development, manufacture, testing, and commissioning. The work contributes to compliant product designs, engineering analysis, and continuous improvement of design tools, standards, and processes.

What you'll do

• Translate contract specifications and code requirements into component, subassembly, and assembly designs
• conduct finite element analyses and prepare reports and recommendations
• support planning, concept development, mechanical design, material selection, calculations, and test plans
• author, check, and approve contract documents and drawings
• track schedules and progress
• interface with customers and vendors
• mentor peers as directed
• suggest design and analysis tools and process improvements.
