Preschool Teacher Assistant

The Preschool Teacher Assistant role is onsite in Ankeny, IA, and pays $14–$17 per hour. The position supports Cadence Education’s early childhood programs and its work to create bright futures for children, families, and educators. Under classroom leadership, the assistant supports daily activities and program implementation, helping maintain a safe, nurturing learning environment. The role contributes to children’s physical, social, emotional, developmental, and behavioral needs while supporting safety and licensing compliance.

What you'll do

• Support a positive and respectful classroom
• greet children and families
• respond to individual developmental, behavioral, cultural, and learning needs, including following IEPs and behavioral support plans as directed
• assist classroom staff with curriculum and Cadence Signature Programs
• communicate with families, coworkers, and leadership
• follow safety and supervision procedures
• document and report incidents
• assist with child behavior documentation and escalation
• participate in required meetings, training, and professional development.
