The Lifeguard role is onsite in Providence, Rhode Island. Pay is $18 per hour. The lifeguard supports the YMCA of Greater Providence’s aquatics program and its mission to build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. The role monitors swimmers, enforces pool rules, and responds to safety needs so people can use the pool in a safe environment and enjoy the YMCA facility.

What you'll do

• Monitor swimming areas and enforce pool rules
• protect the health and safety of pool users
• perform rescue and first aid when necessary
• report accidents and complete incident reports
• help maintain pool and surrounding-area cleanliness and monitor water measures as needed
• follow pool opening and closing procedures
• report maintenance or safety issues
• support aquatics instructors during classes
• attend staff meetings and events.
