Swim Instructor Aide

The Swim Instructor Aide role is onsite in Montclair, NJ, with pay of $16.13–$19.00 per hour. The YMCA’s swim programs support water safety and swimming skills in the community. The aide assists instructors in delivering lessons and helps students build swimming skills in a safe, supportive class environment. The role also supports class records, equipment readiness, communication with families, and YMCA safety procedures.

What you'll do

• Assist swim instructors with lessons using YMCA guidelines and lesson plans
• build relationships with instructors, students, and parents
• share information about aquatics programs and schedules
• help maintain attendance and progress records
• attend staff meetings and training
• follow emergency and safety procedures and complete incident reports as needed
• organize class equipment and report damage
• follow YMCA policies and abuse-risk management procedures.
