Data Analyst — IT FinOps

The Data Analyst — IT FinOps role is onsite in Mechanicsville, VA, with compensation of $40–$45 per hour. The analyst joins the IT FinOps team and analyzes financial data for Azure cloud services and on-premises data center workloads. The role supports strategic decisions and cost optimization by modeling and forecasting IT spending, maintaining reporting datasets, and identifying cost trends and savings opportunities. It also contributes to Azure migration planning and FinOps strategy development.

What you'll do

• Analyze Azure and VITA consumption, billing, and chargeback data
• develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports
• perform monthly and annual spend variance analysis
• maintain datasets from Apptio, Azure Portal, and SharePoint
• document reporting processes
• model server migration costs and forecast reserve capacity
• provide insights for FinOps strategy.
