Horse Trainer, Independent Contractor

What you'll do

• Assess horses’ handling abilities, behavior, confidence, and training needs
• develop individualized plans with the Director of Shelter Operations
• use humane, low-stress, positive reinforcement methods
• build foundational handling skills
• document sessions and progress
• communicate safety concerns and recommendations
• guide staff and volunteers in approved practices
• assist with safe handling for veterinary care when requested
• operate ranch vehicles and equipment when authorized
• maintain a safe training environment.
