Job overview
The Toddler Primary Caregiver and Teacher role is onsite in Batavia, NY, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Pay is $17.50–$18.50 per hour. The role supports the Early Head Start department at Community Action of Orleans and Genesee. The caregiver builds trusting relationships with toddlers and families, provides culturally responsive learning experiences, and supports children’s physical, social-emotional, cognitive, and communication development. The role also promotes family involvement and helps maintain safe, compliant classroom care.
What you'll do
- Supervise toddlers and maintain a safe, healthy classroom
- provide developmentally appropriate learning experiences
- communicate with families and conduct home visits and parent-teacher conferences
- support developmental screenings and IFSP implementation
- maintain child and family records, assessments, attendance, and required reports
- follow Head Start standards, state licensing rules, and agency policies.
