What you'll do

• Evaluate and manage acute surgical conditions and perform emergency general surgery procedures consistent with training and privileges. Participate in trauma resuscitation and operative management as applicable
• provide perioperative and postoperative care
• manage critically ill surgical patients with critical care teams
• provide hospital consultations
• participate in acute care surgery and emergency call coverage
• collaborate on rounds and care planning
• supervise and educate trainees as applicable
• document care
• and participate in quality improvement and patient safety activities.

Why this role

Requires an MD or DO, general surgery residency, board eligibility or certification in General Surgery, state medical licensure, DEA registration or eligibility, and ATLS certification. Fellowship training in acute care, trauma, or surgical critical care is preferred. Call coverage includes nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
