Founding Business Development Representative

The role joins the go-to-market team at a seed-stage AI software startup. As the first in-house business development representative, the role generates qualified pipeline through outbound outreach and helps shape the sales playbook. Prospecting, meeting qualification, messaging tests, and event participation support the startup’s sales development and go-to-market efforts.

What you'll do

• Cold call executives and go-to-market leaders at B2B software companies using a power dialer
• convert outbound conversations into qualified meetings, targeting 12 attended meetings per month
• join initial sales meetings with the account executive
• test messaging, opening lines, objection handling, and positioning with go-to-market leadership
• attend in-person San Francisco-area events
• use AI agents and automation for research, list building, and sequencing
• help create and improve the outbound playbook.
