The First Cook role is onsite in Lexington, MA. Compensation is $19.67–$27.53 per hour. Hebrew SeniorLife’s Culinary and Nutrition Department supports the mission of the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center, with an emphasis on patient dignity and choice. The cook prepares and presents meals to quality, productivity, cost-control, and forecast standards. The role manages meal production and food safety, accommodates menus and special diet needs, maintains equipment and sanitation practices, and coordinates timely meal service with culinary colleagues.

What you'll do

• Prepare, cook, and present meals during the assigned shift
• produce menu quantities using standardized recipes, preparation methods, portion control, and schedules
• accommodate special diet needs
• label, date, and rotate food
• maintain and clean equipment
• support cooking procedures and recipes
• oversee food handling, sanitation, storage, HACCP procedures, and temperature logs
• coordinate timely meal service.

Why this role

Five years of cooking experience is required. ServSafe certification is required or must be obtained within six months. Schedule: Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; Saturday 9:30 a.m.–6 p.m.; Tuesday and Wednesday off.
