Systems Design Engineer, Data Center

The Systems Design Engineer, Data Center role is onsite in Santa Clara, CA, on a first shift of approximately 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; compensation is not specified. The role supports the Data Center Platform Engineering Group and work in AMD labs and facilities. The position exists to diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software issues in lab and data-center systems. It contributes to platform reliability by managing tickets, debugging CPU and GPU systems, monitoring facility issues, installing and replacing hardware, and communicating status and improvements across teams and vendors.

What you'll do

• Work issues through JIRA tickets
• debug platforms and systems and prioritize ticket resolution
• communicate issue status clearly
• follow business priorities from leaders
• work with partners, vendors, ODMs, and OEMs
• monitor lab and data-center issues such as power or network outages and liquid-cooling leaks
• install and replace hardware
• debug firmware and operating-system issues, especially those related to GPUs
• drive continuous improvement.
