Maintenance Supervisor This is an onsite, full-time position in Zuni, VA. Compensation is not specified. West Fraser is a diversified North American wood products company. The Maintenance Supervisor will provide leadership, training, and development to hourly personnel by managing the process flow, resources, and workforce to meet and exceed established budgets and performance objectives. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of sawmill equipment.

What you'll do

• Achieving Maintenance goals with the highest regard for employee safety. Capable of supporting troubleshooting & observations of machine centers with shift supervisors and other maintenance staff to ensure production and quality standards are met. Managing the department cost in an aggressive manner assuring optimum manufacturing unit cost
• develop and educate key metrics. Maintenance Planning, planning non-emergency maintenance, coordinating PM routes. Effectively communicating goals and/or instructions. Managing conflicts. Supervising Maintenance and Cleanup personnel on varying schedules. Managing contractor safety through active leadership. Maintenance of sawmill equipment (this includes but is not limited to De-Barkers, Gang Edgers, Trimmer, Sorter, Stacker, Conveyors, Chippers, Blowers, Hydraulic Systems, Pneumatic Systems). Safety of the crew (Lock-Out Procedures, assisting with and verifying Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRA), Safety Audits). Arrange WF Training for and mentoring apprentices. Creating and planning improvement projects. Managing parts with the purchaser. Scheduling and attendance. Will include periodic weekend coverage. Inspecting completed work.

What we're looking for

Education

Two or Four-year degree preferred

Experience

Minimum of five years (plus) of industrial experience. Prior Journeyman Electrician or Millwright.
