Tool and Die Technician / Tool Maker — 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Shift

The Tool and Die Technician / Tool Maker role is onsite in Batesville, IN. Pay is $18–$30 per hour, based on experience and certificates or degrees held. Batesville Tool & Die makes and maintains tooling for production. The technician maintains and repairs dies, prepares tooling for production, troubleshoots tooling issues, and operates tool-room and manual equipment. The work supports timely production of quality parts and continuous improvement of processes.

What you'll do

• Maintain and repair compound, progressive, transfer, and restrike dies
• complete tooling work orders
• prepare tooling for production
• troubleshoot tools and die support elements
• calculate die clearance and shear
• retime die components and produce shims
• participate in continuous improvement and engineering changes
• set up and operate manual and Proto Trak equipment
• complete press logs and tooling work
• assist with training less-experienced coworkers and students
• work a flexible schedule and/or overtime as company needs require.
