The Arborist Trainee Internship, Spring–Summer 2027 is an onsite, field-based role in Solon, OH, with compensation of $22–$23 per hour. The internship is expected to begin in Spring–Summer 2027. The Davey Tree Expert Company provides tree services, grounds maintenance, and environmental consulting, with a focus on client service and environmental stewardship. The intern learns arboriculture and tree-care work alongside experienced arborists, climbers, plant health care technicians, and landscape professionals. The experience builds practical field skills and introduces participants to the operational, client-service, sales, management, and leadership aspects of a residential tree-care office.

What you'll do

• Learn and assist with tree pruning, removal, cabling, bracing, and maintenance
• support tree and landscape installation
• learn safe operation of chainsaws, chippers, and other field tools
• gain exposure to plant health care, including deep-root fertilization, soil care, and integrated pest and disease management
• learn residential tree-care office operations and client service, sales, management, and leadership fundamentals. The internship includes 40–50 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays.
