Job overview

The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) position is onsite in La Vista, NE. Compensation is $20–$22.50 per hour. The CMA reports to the Director of Nursing and supports residents in a Cedarhurst senior living community. The role administers medications and provides direct resident care according to individualized care plans. It supports daily living, safety, wellbeing, and independence through observation, documentation, communication, and assistance with resident needs.

What you'll do

  • Provide direct resident care and distribute medications according to individualized care plans
  • observe residents and report condition changes
  • document observations, incidents, interventions, and medication assistance
  • communicate information to the next shift
  • check and record vital signs, weights, and blood sugars as assigned
  • administer and document medications using the five rights
  • provide glucose monitoring and insulin administration if insulin-certified
  • assist with activities of daily living, nutrition, hydration, transfers, and ambulation
  • perform restorative nursing techniques
  • support fall prevention
  • assist with medication delivery records and counts
  • notify pharmacy and supervisors of medication issues
  • attend in-service classes and staff meetings
  • assist with orienting and coaching staff.
