Vice President of Engineering Projects

Job overview

The Vice President of Engineering Projects role is onsite in Burlington, MA, with total cash compensation of $250,000–$350,000 per year plus equity. Phoenix Tailings develops domestic rare earth metals and critical materials production infrastructure. The executive leads major capital project delivery from engineering development and project strategy through construction, commissioning, and operational handoff. The role establishes governance and execution systems, manages external partners and project risks, and builds the internal organization needed to deliver industrial facilities safely and at commercial scale.

What you'll do

• Lead engineering and execution strategy for major capital projects
• oversee engineering, procurement, construction management, commissioning, and startup
• manage EPCM firms, consultants, construction partners, and suppliers
• establish governance, stage gates, design reviews, change controls, risk and cost controls, and reporting
• oversee budgets, forecasts, contracts, and procurement
• build the engineering projects organization
• partner with process development, manufacturing, operations, and leadership.
