Solution Train Engineer — Subject Matter Expert

The Solution Train Engineer — Subject Matter Expert role is onsite in Columbia, MD, on the day shift, with an annual compensation range of $244,000–$258,000. The role supports a large-scale, cyber-focused Department of Defense program. The engineer coordinates execution and continuous improvement across a complex Solution Train, helping multiple Agile Release Trains align technical dependencies and deliver value. The role facilitates planning and coordination, removes cross-team impediments, and coaches Agile leaders to keep delivery aligned with technical, security, contractual, and mission objectives.

What you'll do

• Facilitate Solution Train events, including Program Increment planning, demos, Inspect and Adapt events, and Value Stream Syncs
• manage value flow using Jira and Confluence
• coordinate architecture, dependencies, capabilities, and integration
• track and resolve impediments, risks, and issues
• report delivery progress and performance
• maintain technical and program documentation
• coach Agile leaders
• support continuous improvement and alignment with program objectives.
