Early Intervention Developmental Educator

The Early Intervention Developmental Educator works in community-based settings, primarily clients’ homes, in the Richmond-Henrico area of Virginia. The periodic, PRN position may offer up to 10 hours per week with flexible hours that vary with client scheduling; pay is based on experience, with no numeric compensation specified. The role supports Easterseals PORT Health’s Early Childhood Intervention program for children from birth to age three. The educator provides direct developmental education and collaborates with families and caregivers to help children build skills and reach developmental outcomes. Assessment, documentation, and coordination with service providers help shape appropriate supports for each child and family.

What you'll do

• Provide direct education services based on Individualized Family Service Plan outcomes
• share developmental information and activities with families
• assess developmental levels using approved instruments
• conduct needs assessments and help develop child and family outcomes
• document services and progress
• collaborate with families, coordinators, school personnel, and providers
• participate in IFSP meetings.
