The purpose of this role is to coordinate services and activities specific to the Imaging area, monitor all technical clerical functions, and perform radiographs by applying x-ray energy according to established standards.
What you'll do
- Perform all diagnostic radiographic procedures including ER, surgical, fluoroscopic and portable radiographs.
- Select and operate radiography equipment, imaging and/or associated accessories to successfully perform procedures.
- Select appropriate protocols to obtain desired results.
- Demonstrate knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
- Document, on the images or in writing, information seen during exam.
- Relay to physicians any relevant patient information.
- Follow all hospital guidelines regarding radiation protection and applies principles of radiation safety to minimize risk to patient, self and others.
- Provide optimum patient care during exams.
- Operate all computer systems (Meditech, RAD module, OE, PCI, PACS, etc.) that relate to the individual’s job assignment and department operations.
- Participate in call rotation as needed.
- Perform other department related duties as needed and assigned.
