Dietitian - Part Time This is an onsite position in Centreville, VA, with a salary range of $59,820.00 - $101,836.00/Yr. MedStar Health is seeking a Dietitian Nutrition Services professional. The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for collecting pertinent information, developing appropriate care plans, monitoring patient status, counseling patients and families on nutritional requirements, and consulting with other health personnel.

What you'll do

• Conducts assessment for patients to establish diet and food guidelines.
• Reviews patient medical orders.
• Develops and implements an individualized plan for medical nutrition therapy.
• Provides therapeutic plan for specialized nutrition support.
• Works cooperatively with Food Service staff.
• Calculates nutritional requirements and necessary diet restrictions.
• Completes nutritional assessment and participates in interdisciplinary assessments.
• Responsible for developing or obtaining patient nutrition education materials.
• Assesses patient's knowledge of diet and provides education.
• Monitors adherence and response to nutrition therapy.
• Plans menus to meet patients' needs.
• Documents nutritional care plans and patient response.
• Serves as nutritional care resource.
• Directs clinical supportive staff.
• Participates in staff and committee meetings.
• Conducts rounds to check for nutritional problems.
• Provides ongoing nutrition assessment and counseling.
• Communicates and coordinates with physician and other health care personnel.
• Evaluates food served for conformance to quality standards.

What we're looking for

Education

Bachelor's degree in dietetics nutrition required or equivalent required

Experience

1-2 years Experience in a healthcare setting required
