Tax Senior Manager

The Tax Senior Manager is an onsite role located in San Jose, CA. Compensation is specified as $185,000 - $215,000 per year, supporting the tax department of a top 100 public accounting firm. This role exists to lead complex tax engagements and manage client relationships at a high level. The Tax Senior Manager contributes to the firm's goals by driving technical excellence and mentoring the tax team.

What you'll do

• Demonstrated knowledge of current tax laws.
• Must be open to hybrid.
• Proficiency in use of computer tax preparation, tax research, and tax planning software programs.
• Occasional overtime work required throughout the year.
• Heavy overtime work required from January 1 to April 15, may be in excess of 55 hours per week.
• 7-10 years' experience in public accounting, demonstrating a proven progression in tax complexity, scope, and research.
• 2+ years' experience representing clients before taxing authorities.
• 1+ year experience supervising and directing work of tax preparers.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, master’s degree in taxation preferred.
• Minimum of forty hours of continuing education is required each year to maintain and develop technical and business skills.
• A current and valid certified public accountant’s license is required.
• Must be a member in good standing with the American Institute of CPAs.
