X-Ray Technologist

Job overview

The X-Ray Technologist role is onsite in Murphy, NC, with compensation of $24–$32 per hour. American Family Care provides walk-in primary and urgent care, including treatment for acute illnesses and injuries, workers’ compensation, and occupational medicine. The technologist performs radiographic and other diagnostic imaging procedures to help physicians diagnose injuries and disease. The role also supports clinical and administrative needs, including patient registration and medical assisting duties when needed.

What you'll do

• Greet patients and explain procedures
• position patients for imaging
• use ALARA radiation protection techniques
• process images, verify identification and image quality, and prepare images for physician review and radiologist overreads
• operate digital and non-digital imaging equipment according to approved techniques and policies
• perform routine equipment maintenance and arrange repairs
• maintain forms, records, logs, and reports
• serve as a medical receptionist or medical assistant when needed within appropriate guidelines.
