Job overview

Staff AI Engineer - Design Automation in Milpitas, CA. This is an onsite, full-time position with compensation not specified. SanDisk is a technology company focused on data storage solutions, with advanced manufacturing capabilities and a commitment to innovation. What you'll do

  • + Develop the Agent Platform: orchestration, tool integration, observability, and evaluation infrastructure
  • + Work closely with design and verification engineers to deeply understand pain points and identify high-impact automation opportunities
  • + Create techniques for grounding agents in domain knowledge - specifications, design rules, verification intent
  • + Build rigorous evaluation frameworks that measure agent reliability, correctness, and safety
  • + Debug hard problems across the stack - from model behavior to infrastructure to domain-specific edge cases
  • + Ship systems that work reliably, not just impressive demos
