Dance Specialist, After-School Programs

The Dance Specialist, After-School Programs role is onsite in New York, NY. Pay is $25–$30 per hour. Harlem Children’s Zone provides youth programming focused on expanding opportunities for children and families. The specialist develops and facilitates dance lessons, activities, and creative projects for students in grades K–12. Through arts instruction and project-based learning, the role supports students’ artistic, educational, and leadership development.

What you'll do

• Develop age- and skill-appropriate dance curriculum, lesson plans, activities, and projects
• facilitate project-based units and attend weekly meetings
• help students develop artistic, educational, and leadership potential
• engage students in critical thinking, rehearsals, hands-on learning, community-building, and related activities
• coordinate subject-related trips, guest speakers, events, exhibitions, and college trips
• communicate student progress to team members
• serve as a role model.
