Sterile Processing Technician, Night Shift

The Sterile Processing Technician, Night Shift role is onsite in Washington, DC, with a full-time schedule from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Pay is $19.47–$31.16 per hour. Howard University Hospital’s Perioperative Services team supports patient safety at a Level 1 Trauma Center. The technician decontaminates, assembles, and sterilizes instruments and equipment so they are ready for surgical and procedural use. Accurate processing, testing, inventory, and documentation support safe patient care and departmental quality standards.

What you'll do

• Decontaminate, assemble, and sterilize instruments
• prepare case carts
• process endoscopes and power equipment
• inspect and assemble procedure trays
• track loaner instruments
• conduct and document biological indicator tests
• maintain sterile supply inventory
• keep processing records
• report incidents, injuries, and equipment malfunctions.
