What you'll do
- Monitor animal health, welfare, and production performance
- participate in sow-farm breeding and farrowing operations
- ensure animals receive feed, water, and ventilation
- ship and receive animals
- treat animals
- heat-check and breed sows and gilts through artificial insemination
- assist with birthing and piglet care
- move, sort, process, and wean animals
- clean and disinfect facilities
- monitor equipment, feed systems, and feed quality
- support nutrition and herd-management programs
- analyze feed and production data
- collaborate with veterinarians, nutritionists, and farm leadership
- train employees
- maintain records
- follow biosecurity, animal-welfare, safety, and regulatory requirements
- maintain PQA+ certification.
