The Lead Facilities Control Engineer is an onsite role in Phoenix, AZ, with a Monday–Friday first-shift schedule. Annual compensation is $135,000–$170,000, based on experience. The position is a direct opportunity with a client of SST Direct and supports facilities controls in regulated life-sciences, pharmaceutical, biotech, or clinical laboratory environments. The engineer leads building management system architecture and lifecycle strategy, overseeing design, commissioning, qualification, and validation. The role helps maintain reliable, compliant environmental controls and audit readiness while guiding vendors and engineering teams on automation requirements.

What you'll do

• Lead BMS architecture, automation standards, alarm management, data integrity, and lifecycle strategies
• oversee system design, commissioning, qualification, and validation
• support reliability, regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and sustainability
• partner with Quality on GxP compliance, investigations, audits, and corrective actions
• identify risks involving environmental controls, cybersecurity, obsolescence, and business continuity
• manage automation vendors and guide engineering teams
• align automation systems with operational and regulatory requirements. Participate in on-call rotations and respond to after-hours emergencies
• periodic travel and occasional evening, weekend, or holiday work are required.
