The Controller – Construction Accounting role is in person in Fort Myers, FL. Compensation is not specified. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller leads the accounting and financial reporting functions and works with company leadership, project management, operations, and corporate finance. The role provides accurate financial reporting and project-level insight, supports financial controls and planning, and helps identify project risks early.

What you'll do

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations and monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
• prepare financial statements and management reports
• oversee job cost accounting, progress billing, accounts receivable, retainage, unbilled revenue, underbillings, overbillings, WIP schedules, accounts payable, general ledger, payroll accounting, and cash management
• review project financial performance and forecasts with project managers
• identify margin erosion, cost overruns, billing issues, and financial risks
• maintain internal controls and GAAP compliance
• support budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning, audits, tax reporting, and insurance audits
• supervise and develop accounting team members.

Why this role

Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience; and direct progress-billed construction accounting experience. CPA or CMA is a plus, not required.
