Security Engineer — DoD Cybersecurity

The Security Engineer role is onsite at Hill Air Force Base, UT 84056, and is full-time. Compensation is not specified. The JAAW Group seeks an engineer to support secure, mission-critical Department of Defense systems at the base. The role strengthens system security by engineering and maintaining cybersecurity tools, automating security processes, supporting vulnerability management and incident response, and incorporating security requirements into enterprise and cloud environments. It works with ISSO, DevOps, platform, and infrastructure teams and supports RMF and JSIG compliance.

What you'll do

• Administer cybersecurity tools and platforms, including Splunk Enterprise
• support vulnerability scanning and compliance assessment
• automate security processes using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, Bash, or Python
• improve detections, telemetry, alerting, and incident response
• engineer security requirements for AWS and Azure
• implement access controls and system hardening
• partner with ISSM and ISSO teams on RMF authorization and continuous monitoring
• and maintain technical documentation.
