Driver – Facility Technician

Job overview

The Driver – Facility Technician role is onsite in Palatine, IL, and pays $17 per hour. This part-time position supports JOURNEYS The Road Home, a nonprofit providing shelter, social services, and housing support to people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity. The role helps keep daily operations running by transporting people and donations and completing general facility repairs and maintenance. It also supports the agency’s service mission through respectful communication and assistance to the people it serves.

What you'll do

• Transport people and donations in a passenger van or minivan
• complete general repairs and facility maintenance
• communicate respectfully and assist people as needed
• perform additional assigned tasks. Requires a valid driver’s license, good driving record, supervisor-administered driving test, and ability to drive an 8- to 12-passenger vehicle.
