What you'll do

• Receive, book, and release inmates
• complete fingerprints, photographs, searches, inventories, records, and required checks
• assign housing and issue supplies
• conduct rounds, counts, inspections, and searches
• enforce facility regulations
• respond to emergencies
• monitor inmate welfare and behavior
• operate control-center equipment and alarms
• control facility access and keys
• process bond conditions and transactions
• maintain shift communications and jail records
• support inmate welfare and scheduled services
• appear in court and testify as required
• conduct preliminary breath tests and collect samples when necessary.

Why this role

Requires U.S. citizenship, Kansas residency or residency within 90 days, age 18 or older, a valid driver’s license, background investigation, and pre-employment and post-offer testing. High school diploma or equivalent is required; prior corrections or law enforcement experience is preferred.
