General Facilities Technician – 1st Shift

Job overview

The General Facilities Technician – 1st Shift role is onsite in Fremont, CA, with some travel to Hayward and pay of $35–$40 per hour. The technician maintains critical systems in the client’s research and development labs. The role supports reliable lab operations by operating, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing HVAC, mechanical, control, and infrastructure systems. It also handles preventive maintenance, facility service requests, contractor coordination, and installation or repair work across multiple trades.

What you'll do

• Support contractor scopes, job walks, lockout/tagout confirmation, and pre- and post-job reviews
• operate, maintain, diagnose, and repair HVAC, boilers, chillers, hydronic loops, VAVs, compressors, dryers, exhaust systems, and specialized lab equipment
• perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs
• install, repair, and modify ductwork, piping, exhaust equipment, and HVAC components
• inspect systems for performance, safety, and lab compliance
• request parts
• coordinate and supervise subcontractors
• respond to lab service requests and general facility maintenance.
