What you'll do

• Patrol authority property and surrounding areas by vehicle, bicycle, or on foot
• deter and respond to unlawful activity
• detain, cite, or arrest as appropriate
• conduct criminal and civil investigations
• collect and maintain evidence and prepare reports
• respond to subpoenas and testify in court as required
• assess use-of-force options
• provide traffic and crowd control
• respond to life-threatening situations
• answer public questions
• attend required POST and departmental training.

Why this role

Requires a high school diploma or GED and 60 college units, with an associate degree preferred but not required; three years of law-enforcement experience; current POST certification within the past four years; and completion of or successful completion of Louisiana basic POST training.
