The Horizontal Directional Drill Operator (HDD) role is an onsite, full-time field position based in Clearwater, FL, paying $33 per hour. The operator supports Sedulous Broadband LLC fiber infrastructure projects as part of the underground fiber construction team. The role exists to install underground conduit and microduct for fiber-optic infrastructure through safe, accurate directional drilling. The operator performs bores and pullbacks, coordinates with the locator and ground crew, follows project plans and safety requirements, and helps with related underground construction work when drilling is stopped or complete.

What you'll do

• Operate horizontal directional drilling equipment
• perform pilot bores, reaming, and product pullbacks
• install conduit, duct, and microduct systems
• coordinate bore depth, pitch, alignment, and path with the locator
• read construction prints, bore plans, utility maps, and specifications
• conduct pre-job walkouts
• assist with potholing
• monitor drilling conditions and manage drilling fluid when required
• inspect equipment and report maintenance needs
• coordinate with project personnel
• protect existing utilities and property
• maintain a safe work area
• complete production documentation
• assist with related underground construction duties.
