Correctional Counselor

The Correctional Counselor role is onsite at the Salt Lake County Jail in Salt Lake City, UT, with a Tuesday–Saturday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Compensation is $19.50 per hour. The role supports Odyssey House’s Criminal Justice Program, which provides treatment and community support for people involved in the criminal justice system. The counselor assesses client needs, provides skills development, coordinates care with clinical and correctional staff, and connects clients with resources and support systems. The work contributes to client recovery and preparation for community reentry.

Why this role

A bachelor’s degree in a related field or program graduate in good standing is preferred but not required. Previous recovery work and group facilitation experience are listed as requirements. Background screening is required.
